Sushi Takeshi is a small sushi counter on the ground floor of The Mira Hong Kong on Nathan Road. Chef Kin trained at well-known sushi-ya in Hong Kong and Japan before opening here, and the restaurant holds one Michelin star in the 2026 guide.
A single omakase is served, built almost entirely on ingredients flown in from Japan. Chef Kin dresses the rice with one of two vinegar blends, chosen according to how oily each fish is, and the gently cooked kuruma prawn is a regular highlight. Lunch costs about HK$980 and dinner about HK$2,280 per person, and the Michelin inspectors single out the lunch menu as good value.
It suits diners staying in Kowloon who want a Michelin-level sushi meal without crossing the harbour. The restaurant works by reservation only, so book ahead by phone and ask for a counter seat. Lunch is the easier slot to secure and the better-value way to try the counter for the first time.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
