Omakase Go Where is a guide to the omakase counters worth booking across Southeast Asia and beyond: Edomae sushi bars, kappo and kaiseki counters, yakitori grills, tempura counters, wagyu and teppanyaki rooms.
A place makes the guide when a chef's-choice menu at the counter is the main way to eat there, and we can confirm from recent sources that it is open. Each listing gives the style, the published lunch and dinner prices, the head chef where a reliable source names one, the number of counter seats where known, and how to book.
Every listing is checked against the restaurant's own website, booking pages and menus, the current Michelin Guide, and recent press before it goes live. Price bands are based on the cheapest dinner omakase per person before drinks, service charge and tax. Michelin recognition is shown only when it appears in the current edition of the guide.
We cover Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bali, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with more to come.
Omakase Go Where is one of the GoWhere Guides, alongside Steak, Sunday Roast, Burger, Pub, Brunch, Cocktail, Rooftop and Craft Beer Go Where. See them all at gowhereguides.com.
