Sushi Sakuta sits in Millenia Walk, a short walk from Marina Bay. Chef-owner Yoshio Sakuta started cooking at 18 and trained in sushi and omakase restaurants before opening here. The dining room is centred on a single piece of hinoki more than five metres long, with ten counter seats and a six-seat private room. The Michelin Guide awarded it two stars in the 2026 edition.
The menu changes with the season and uses Japanese fish only, prepared in the Edomae manner with occasional adaptations to suit each catch. Rice is a blend of two Japanese cultivars in a fixed ratio. On TableCheck, lunch costs S$350 for the shorter course and S$580 for the longer one, and dinner is S$580. A Sakuta-Shima menu at S$650 is cooked with chef Takahiro Shima of Tenshima next door.
Suited to sushi diners who want a quiet, formal counter. Seats are limited, so book on TableCheck several weeks ahead, especially for weekends. Thursday has dinner service only, and the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Sister tempura counter Tenshima is in the same mall.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
