Shunsui, formerly Kappo Shunsui, now occupies a ground-floor unit on Hongkong Street near Clarke Quay. It was formed by merging Kappo Shunsui with Kyuu by Shunsui, and has been listed in the Michelin Guide every year since 2018, including 2026. Head chef Kazu Oyama trained at Yamazato restaurants in Amsterdam, Bangkok and Tokyo. The theatrically lit wooden counter seats 20.
Three multi-course omakase menus usually run from appetisers and sashimi to sushi, a hot dish, a main course and dessert, with sharp knife work and hand-pressed nigiri. On TableCheck, dinner costs S$128 (Kacho), S$158 (Fuga) and S$198 (Shunsui), and an Okawari sushi course is S$99. Lunch runs from S$79 for the sushi course and S$98 for Kacho to S$178.
One of the better-value Michelin-listed counters, and the large counter suits small groups. Book on TableCheck or by WhatsApp. The same group runs Kemuri and Five Nines at Cuppage Plaza, Eizaburo in Fortune Centre and Komachi in Orchard Plaza.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
