Sushi Yorokobu occupies a 12-seat counter in the BlueChips Building on Thonglor Soi 10, a short ride from BTS Thong Lo. It has built a following as one of the more affordable serious Edomae counters in the city, with a menu that changes with the season and is announced each month on the restaurant's website.
The entry-level 12-course Essential Edomae menu costs 2,900 baht, the 14-course Chef's Selection 3,900 baht and the 20-course Pinnacle menu 6,900 baht; a Nagasaki hon-maguro course built around bluefin tuna is also 6,900 baht. All prices are plus 10% service and 7% tax. Recent menus have featured seiko kani (female snow crab), Hokkaido uni and buri, with higher tiers adding bluefin from Nagasaki and abalone. Lunch is served at noon and dinner in three sittings at 17:00, 19:00 and 20:30.
A sensible first omakase for visitors, or a regular haunt for Thonglor residents. Book through TableCheck or the website; the 12-course menu sells out first. Smart-casual dress, and flag shellfish allergies when booking as the menu is fish-led.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
