Sushi Uminohana is a small sushi counter at 70 Phan Ke Binh in Ba Dinh, in the same building as its teppanyaki sibling, Teppan Shu. The room is pale wood with a long counter facing the chefs. It belongs to the Umino group, which also runs Umi no Sachi in Ho Chi Minh City, and the head chef trained largely in Japan.
Uminohana works as a traditional sushi-ya using fish flown in from Japan, including whole bluefin tuna broken down at the counter. In 2025 press coverage the entry course cost 1,800,000 VND for six seasonal nigiri, sashimi of the day and steamed egg; a middle course at 2,500,000 VND added a seasonal dish, and the top course at 4,000,000 VND offered a choice of grilled A5 wagyu or the day's best fish. The restaurant's own site lists courses from 2,500,000 VND to 7,000,000 VND, so check current prices.
Uminohana suits solo diners and couples who want a focused sushi counter away from the Old Quarter. Book through the website or the hotline.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
