Asuka sits on the lobby level of JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta in Mega Kuningan and takes its cues from a traditional Japanese home. Executive Japanese chef Nishiura Osamu leads the kitchen with Chef Akita, an Edomae sushi specialist, and the room has a 21-seat sushi counter plus two private rooms, one with floor seating.
The omakase runs six to nine courses and changes with the day's fish. About 80% of ingredients, from rice and fresh wasabi to sea salt, are flown in from Toyosu and Fukuoka twice a week. Dishes can include oysters, ayu, katsuo tataki, shirako and uni. Reports put the omakase from about Rp2,000,000++ per person; an à la carte menu is also available.
Convenient for business dinners in Kuningan. Open daily for lunch and dinner; reserve through Chope or WhatsApp and ask for the counter.
Menus, prices and seatings change and many counters book out, so please check with the restaurant before you go.
